Got a question for us? Maybe somebody else has already asked us! We’ve compiled a list of our most frequently asked questions below for you to check before you get in touch with us about your query.

1When is the last day to register?
The last day to register for the Perth Running Festival is the 5th of October 2019.
2When is the bib collection expo?
The expo will be held on Thursday 3, Friday 4 and Saturday 5 October at Optus Stadium.
3I am unable to make it to the collection expos to pick up my race number.
Unfortunately, race numbers/bibs are only available for collection on the 3, 4 and 5 October from Optus Stadium. Bibs cannot be collected prior to the expo days or on the event day.

If you cannot make it to collect your race number, you are more than welcome to send someone to collect it on your behalf.
4I want to have my bib mailed to me rather than picking up at the collection expo.
Postal option is available for an extra cost at the registration checkout. The last day to be eligible for the Postal Pack option is midnight Monday 2 September 2019.

If you register after this date you’ll have to collect your race bib in person on the designated collection expo days (3, 4 and 5 October at Optus Stadium).
5I accidentally entered the wrong details on my application
Please follow this link and submit your email address via the orange button, this will give you access to your application and the ability to change any wrong details.
6I am no longer able to participate in the event. Can I withdraw and get a refund?
You can withdraw from the event; however, we don’t offer refunds as per our terms and conditions. You can have the registration transferred to someone else who can participate.
7I have lost or never received my confirmation email, can I have it resent?
Please follow this link and submit your email address via the orange button, if you have accidentally entered the wrong email, please send us an email with your details, and we can update your registration from the admin area. To resend registration details please scroll to the bottom of the registration summary and click ‘Resend Registration Email’.
8How can I upgrade or downgrade my event?
Please go to https://perthrunningfestival.com.au/change-your-registration-information/, fill out the form and we will be happy to help you change your distance.

Please note that if you are upgrading, you will be required to pay the difference, if you are downgrading unfortunately you are forfeiting the difference.
9How do I register a team?
1. Go to www.perthrunningfestival.com.au and click the register button.
2. Click on Create a Team.
3. Pick a team name, and check for the availability.
4. Choose a team type;
a. School/ University
b. Gym/Training Group
c. Social Group
d. Corporate Group
e. Other
5. Enter your Team Administrator details.
6. Choose your team type;
a. Public- Anyone who registers for the event can join
b. Private- Invitation only team
c. Password- Only people with the team password can join (Perfect for corporate groups!)
7. Select your payment options
a. Team members pay for their own registrations
b. The Team Administrator pays for the whole team’s registrations. (Perfect for corporate groups!) As the team administrator you are responsible for payment of registrations. Please note, anyone requesting a postal pack must be fully paid by September 4th 2018 in order for the postal option to be valid.
8. Congratulations! Your team has been created!
a. Time to start inviting people to join or adding your team members!
9. To edit your team, simply log back in via this link to edit your team details.
10Will there be parking available on the event day at the Optus Stadium?
There is no parking available at the Optus Stadium on event day. Participants are encouraged to use Transperth services to and from the event.

If you wish to drive, the most convenient parking is available at Gloucester Park for $10 per car between 5:00am and 1:00pm on race day.
11Is public transport free with my registration?
Yes! Transperth trains will be offering free public transport to all participants to and from Optus Stadium (Subject to Transperth train availability). Please note that stadium busses will NOT be operating.

The joint ticketing entitlement will be included in participant’s registration to the event. This means registrations include travel on all Transperth services from first service, during and three hours after the event for participants.
12Do I need to wear my race bib while on course?
You must wear your assigned race bib for emergency and security reasons while also giving you your official race time and access to Marathon Photos post event.
13If I change my event, what do I do with my current race bib?
If you have changed event length or wave and have received your bib via a postal pack, you will be required to attend the Expo to swap the bib.
14How can I apply for a preferred start?
Complete the registration form and include your most recent race results, including proof of time.

Please note that not all applications will be accepted. Once you have been accepted you will receive a registration code allowing you into the Priority Start wave.
15What wave should I choose?
We recommend choosing your start group based on your estimated finish time listed in the Event Distance drop down. If you want to run with friends it is best to work out a similar pace and enter the same start group.

Please note that the priority wave is via application only, should you wish to enter this wave, please contact Info@perthrunningfestival.com.au.
You are permitted to change your wave if the wave you wish to enter has not sold out and still has available positions. Please follow this link and submit your email address via the orange button, this will give you access to your application. Once logged into your application, head to the Registration section and click the green edit button, this will give you the option to change race length and/or wave.
16I’ve already registered but I want to join a team.
Please follow this link and submit your email address via the orange button, this will give you access to your application. Once logged into your application, head to the ‘Team Details’ and select edit, from here you will be given the option to search for a team to join.
17Can I fundraise for any charity via the Perth Running Festival website?
The Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research is the sole charity beneficiary of this event. They were selected as they are a WA-based charity working on cures for many diseases affecting our families – including cancer, heart disease, diabetes and rare genetic disorders.
18How do I register as a Carer?
To register as a Carer for a person in need of assistance in the Perth Running Festival, please email our support team to complete the carers application.

Please note, once you have applied to be a carer you will be eligible to collect a carers bib from the Bib Collection during opening hours.
19What Road Closures will be in place for the event?
Visit our road closures page to see all road closures implemented for race day.
20Can I run with my dog?
Only official guide, support or working dogs are allowed on course. No other animals will be allowed.
21Are prams and wheelchairs permitted or something like that?
Race chairs are not permitted in the marathon and half marathon distances. We do not have an official wheelchair event however we are looking to expand the event and include one next year.

Prams, strollers and non-racing wheelchairs being pushed (assisted) are permitted in the 10km and 4km events, however they must be at the back of the final wave. Children in prams who may at any stage be on the course need to also be registered as participants for safety reasons.
22Can I run with headphones?
We strongly discourage the use of headphones on course. If you do choose to use headphones whilst running, please ensure that you are still able to hear what is happening around you.
23Can I have a supporter ride a bike next to me?
No personal support riders or bike riders within the vicinity of runners are permitted on course. It is the responsibility of each athlete while running to ensure that no bikes are on the course near the runners. Any transgression will result in disqualification from the event.
24Can I fly a personal drone on course?
The use of any type of drone or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is strictly prohibited at the event. Any person using a drone or UAV may be disqualified from the event.
25Are spectators allowed to come and watch?
Spectators are most certainly welcome.
26What does the registration include?
The registration provides you with your race number, free transportation on any Transperth service, use of the Race Day Drop off Clothing Service and a medal at the conclusion of your run. T-Shirts and other merchandise are not included; however, they can be purchased separately from the Perth Running Festival website.
27How will I know where I’m supposed to run/walk when participating in the event?
There will be course marshals and signage along the course guiding both runners and walkers throughout the day.
28Will all participants receive a medal?
Yes! All finishers will receive a medal!
